Researching therapeutic boarding school near North Dakota? Have you considered one with a wilderness program built into it as well?
Maybe you’ve been having difficulty with an angry or unruly teen in your home? Has your troubled boy or girl been kicked out of school, or gotten into trouble with the law? Do you worry about their safety? As a result, you may be considering residential care options; such as a therapeutic boarding school or a wilderness program, which are both vital and proven solutions when dealing with troubled boys and girls.
While it is not located in North Dakota, we encourage you to check out Shepherd’s Hill Academy. For a generation, Shepherd’s Hill Academy has been guiding troubled boys and girls (in separate sections of our campus), helping them get back on track. We’ve helped hundreds of teens from around the country and from North Dakota, serving homes just like yours.
A Hybrid Between a Wilderness Program and a Boarding School, with a Christian Emphasis
Shepherd’s Hill Academy, located in northeast Georgia about 2 hours from Atlanta, is a blend of a therapeutic wilderness program and a Christian boarding school with several forms of therapy, including counseling and equine therapy. Teens come to Shepherd’s Hill Academy from the east coast, south, midwest, western states and west coast, including from New York, Philadephia, Pittsburg, Boston, Atlanta and North Dakota.
Shepherd’s Hill Academy is an unapologetically Christ-centered therapeutic boarding school, believing that transformation due to a relationship with Jesus is the only real and lasting change. We provide a first-rate education, one-on-one mentoring and counseling, equine therapy, and teamwork exercises to help teens build character and learn to make responsible decisions.
Therapeutic Wilderness Program is the First Phase
The first phase of a stay at Shepherd’s Hill Academy is a wilderness program, carefully planned to get rid of distractions, build trust and teach teamwork. Living without TV, cell phones and other conveniences allows teens to contemplate deeper issues of life. The necessity of collaborating to meet basic daily needs involves coping and teamwork skills, giving teens good reason to consider their obligation to others.
The Therapeutic Boarding School and Residential Program is Next
After residents display responsible decisions and take ownership of their growth, they shift to the residential program and live in a home on campus. This phase prepares them to transition into society as privileges and individual freedoms are restored.
An Accredited Therapeutic Boarding School with Certified Teachers and Counselors
All throughout the program, teens are enrolled in our on-campus, fully accredited junior and senior high school, staffed with Georgia certified instructors. We encourage students to get caught up and to also prepare for college, so we also incorporate test prep for the SAT and ACT as part of our daily curriculum.
SHA is designed to equip troubled youth with the skills needed to become more confident, productive and respectful at home, school, and in the community. We provide a fully accredited junior and senior high school on campus. Our unique combination of wilderness therapy, certified equine program, and first-class therapeutic boarding school is all designed to bring focus back into a child’s life. We also utilize accountability groups, individual behavioral and family counseling.
Although our therapeutic boarding school is not located in North Dakota, we do have students who come to our school from all over the country, including North Dakota. The distance, therapy and the time away from home is an effective opportunity to bring healing to your entire family, so call us at (706) 779-5766 or visit the rest of this site to learn more.
