The first phase of enrollment at Shepherd’s Hill Academy is a wilderness program, designed to get rid of distractions, build trust and teach teamwork. Living without electricity and other conveniences allows teens to contemplate more meaningful issues of life. The necessity of working together to meet basic daily needs involves coping and teamwork strategies, compelling teens to consider their obligation to others.

The Therapeutic Boarding School and Residential Program is Next

After a time, when teens display responsible choices and take ownership of their development, they shift to the residential program and move to a home on campus. This next step gets them ready to transition into society as privileges and individual liberties are restored.

An Accredited Therapeutic Boarding School with Certified Teachers and Counselors

All throughout the program, teens are enrolled in our on-campus, fully accredited junior and senior high school, taught by Georgia certified teachers. We encourage students to get caught up and to also prepare for college, so we also include test prep for the SAT and ACT as part of our regular curriculum.

Shepherd’s Hill Academy is structured to equip troubled youth with the skills needed to become more confident, productive and respectful at home, school, and in the community. We provide a state accredited junior and senior high school on campus.
