In today’s culture, it is wise to get your child into God’s Word at a young age.
Today, I want to provide you with two Scriptures your kids should memorize.
Words to the Wise
Proverbs 19:27 says, “Stop listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.” Proverbs 19:20 says, “Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise.”
I quote these two Proverbs, because together they make great memory verses for our kids.
Early on, our kids should understand the virtues of gaining knowledge and wisdom. They will learn that they are both acquired over time usually by accepting instruction, i.e., your instruction.
This is why it is so important for us as parents to be our children’s “go-to” counselors. The question remains: Have WE heeded the wisdom of God’s Word ourselves so we can be wise counselors to our children?
