A Christ-Centered Therapeutic Boarding School
Shepherd’s Hill Academy is unashamedly Christ-centered, believing that transformation due to a relationship with Jesus is the only true and lasting change. Getting Started on the Right Foot — Our Wilderness Program
The early part of enrollment at Shepherd’s Hill Academy is a wilderness program, carefully planned to eliminate distractions, build trust and foster teamwork. Living without TV, cell phones and other conveniences leaves time to contemplate deeper issues of life. The necessity of working together to meet basic daily needs demands coping and teamwork skills, giving teens good reason to consider their responsibility to others. As they observe staff and leaders who submit to God as the ultimate Authority, they find a reference point for themselves and can better relate to authority and to others.
For Parents Seeking a Therapeutic Boarding School in Cleveland, Ohio, We Offer a Well-Rounded Therapeutic Program and Accredited School
After teens demonstrate responsible decisions and take ownership of their development, they shift to the residential program and move to a home on campus. This phase gets them ready to transition into society as privileges and personal freedoms are restored. Careful instruction of parents in our retreats also occurs during this phase in readiness for the teen’s return home.
During both parts of the program, the teens receive regular counseling and are enrolled in our on-campus, fully accredited junior and senior high school, taught by Georgia certified instructors. We desire students to continue their studies in college, so we incorporate test prep for the SAT and ACT as part of our daily curriculum.
