Therapy Programs to Help Troubled Teens
Shepherds Hill Academy provides a comprehensive approach to healing. The success of the therapeutic program at Shepherds Hill Academy is due to the preeminence of a biblically based approach. This Christ-centered therapeutic approach has proven to bring hope, healing, and transformation to the lives of families in crisis using a safe and secure authoritative community model.
Can Teens Survive a Year without Media?
One of the most difficult things for teens to learn when they arrive at Shepherds Hill Academy is that they will be giving up their phones, the Internet, video games, their music, and other media for a year. We strive to insulate teens from many of the negative influences that have held them captive in the past.
In this video, Director Trace Embry, Boys Counselor Jeremy Brown, Girls Counselor Mary Anne Brookshire, and a few of our teen participants talk about how kicking media addiction helps teens learn to slow down, focus on what’s really important, and learn new skills—both physical and mental. In the end, giving up media can be one of the most fulfilling and exciting experiences these teens enjoy.
