Shepherds Hill Academy – 2010 Spring Parent Conference Reviews
- Kurt & Gloria from Minnesota
Trace and Beth,
Thank you for a very successful Parent Conference last weekend. Gloria and I know how much work it is to put on a conference like this and we appreciate all the efforts. Please thank the entire SHA team for us. We are also thankful for allowing us to hold the prayer walk on Friday with several families. God only knows the spiritual victories that were made as SHA families went into battle for our precious children. Thanks again for standing in the gap and doing front line battle for the kingdom.

Fantastic job on the weekend and keeping the events focused and the interaction with our kids positive. We really appreciated that all the different activities on Saturday were set up to give a little “something for everyone.” The food was great, too – especially the Saturday dinner!
This was our best visit with our son yet – really the first one to have significant positive interaction. That was in great part due to the activities that led to discussion and put us in situations to talk about a number of things. It was the most “normal” conversation time we have had. We still have a long way to go, but through prayer and work, we will get there and have our family whole again.
We continue to pray for all the families of Shepherd’s Hill, those families in crisis who are considering SHA, and the staff and teachers who handle our children with the love of Christ.

Thank you and the staff for an excellent weekend of teaching, team building, and prayer. We really enjoyed it. We were not really sure what to expect coming into the weekend but, we got far more than we bargained for. It was a weekend we will remember as a turning point in our lives.

We attended last weekend’s Parent Conference. We were blessed beyond our greatest expectations. Our weekend started with a prayer walk around the beautiful campus with other families. The presence of God, and the peace of God was palpable as we walked around and prayed for students, staff and families. That evening we had an opportunity to meet the parents and staff. We listened to questions that different parents had and we learned much as Trace answered the questions and also presented important information and resources. It is so encouraging to be able to have a dialogue and resource for learning how to better meet the needs of our children.
The weekend continued the next day with more teaching and then the opportunity to break into smaller family groups and accomplish various challenges together which opened our eyes and our student’s eyes to hands on experience of how to work together and successfully accomplish our goals.
All in all we experienced things we’ve never experienced before in our 34 years of parenting! The food was amazing and every single teacher, counselor and staff member poured out love and wisdom to us the entire time.
