Looking for a Christian boarding school near Clinton, North Carolina?
Have you been struggling with a rebellious or unruly teen in your home? Has your troubled teen been kicked out of school, or gotten into trouble with the law? Do you fear for their safety? As a result, you may be looking into residential care options; such as boots camps, a therapeutic boarding school or a wilderness program for troubled teens.
We invite you to check out Shepherds Hill Academy, which is relatively close by. For 20 years, Shepherds Hill Academy has been guiding troubled boys and girls, helping them get back on track. We’ve helped hundreds of teens from around the country from homes just like yours.
Shepherds Hill Academy believes that a change of heart due to a relationship with Jesus is the only genuine and lasting change. We offer a first-rate education, person-to-person mentoring and counseling, equine therapy, and teamwork exercises to help teens grow character and learn to make responsible decisions.
A Hybrid Between a Wilderness Program and a Boarding School, with a Christian Emphasis
Shepherds Hill Academy, located in northeast Georgia about 2 hours from Atlanta, is a blend of a therapeutic wilderness program and a Christian boarding school with several forms of therapy, including counseling and equine therapy. Teens attend Shepherds Hill Academy from the east coast, south, midwest, western states and west coast, including from towns like Clinton.
The Wilderness Program is the First Phase
The early part of a stay at Shepherds Hill Academy is a wilderness program, carefully planned to eliminate distractions, build trust and encourage teamwork. Being without TV, cell phones and other conveniences allows teens to contemplate deeper issues of life. The necessity of collaborating to meet simple daily needs involves coping and teamwork strategies, pushing teens to consider how their contribution impacts others.
The Residential Program is Next
After a time, when teens demonstrate responsible decisions and take ownership of their growth, they transition to the residential program and move to a home on campus. This next step prepares them to transition into society as privileges and individual freedoms are restored.
