Looking for a Boarding School in Georgia? You’ve Found Shepherds Hill Academy
No parent wants to watch their teen suffer. The anguish parents feel as a troubled teen makes terrible choices and seem to be heading down a dark path is overwhelming. You teen may be acting out in angry or violent ways at home or at school, hanging out with friends who encourage his or her bad choices, and may have become involved in reckless or criminal behavior. Your teen may have diagnosed or undiagnosed behavioral, mental, or emotional issues that make it difficult or impossible to reason with or discipline him or her. It’s time to get professional help to save your teen and your family.
Located in northeast Georgia about two hours outside of Atlanta, Shepherds Hill Academy (SHA) has worked for over 20 years to help troubled teens learn to make better choices for themselves. Our boarding school approach removes teens from previous toxic environments and eliminates modern distractions.
Wilderness/Boarding School Hybrid Programs Teach Success at Shepherds Hill Academy
We offer a wide variety of therapeutic approaches, including a wilderness-outdoor adventure program along with a boarding school. These two highly effective programs are part of the comprehensive philosophy we utilize is treating each teen as an individual. Equine therapy, a 100% fully accredited on-campus academy, and tailored cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) along with individual, group, and family counseling and therapies help us treat the whole child and not just the surface.
Incoming participants are placed in the Wilderness Program where each teen is able to learn critical thinking skills, personal responsibility, and accountability while working as part of a team. The rustic living conditions eliminate all modern distractions while also immersing teens in the beauty and awe of the great outdoors.
Teens then qualify for our Next Step Program, where they live in on-campus housing and continue to attend the academy. Certified teachers and instructors work one-on-one and within segregated classrooms to help each teen make and achieve academic goals, including earning credits toward graduation and preparing for college.
All of our programs include an overarching Christian-based focus as we guide students to develop their own relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that it is only through that relationship with Jesus Christ that real and lasting changes are made in the heart and mind.
