Looking for a Christian boarding school near Waynesboro, Mississippi?
Have you been struggling with an angry or unruly teen in your home? Has your troubled boy or girl been expelled from school, or gotten into trouble with authorities? Do you fear for their safety? As a result, you may be considering residential care options; such as boots camps, a therapeutic boarding school or a wilderness program for troubled teenagers.
We invite you to discover Shepherd’s Hill Academy, which is in Northeast Georgia. For 20 years, Shepherd’s Hill Academy has been helping troubled boys and girls, helping them get back on track. We’ve helped hundreds of teens from around the country from families just like yours.
Shepherd’s Hill Academy believes that transformation due to a relationship with Jesus is the only genuine and lasting change. We provide a first-rate education, one-on-one mentoring and counseling, equine therapy, and teamwork exercises to help teens develop character and learn to make responsible choices.
A Hybrid Between a Wilderness Program and a Boarding School, with a Christian Emphasis
Shepherd’s Hill Academy, located in northeast Georgia about 2 hours from Atlanta, combines the best aspects of a therapeutic wilderness program and a Christian boarding school with several forms of therapy, including counseling and equine therapy. Teens come to Shepherd’s Hill Academy from the east coast, south, midwest, western states and west coast, including from towns like Waynesboro.
The Wilderness Program is the First Phase
The first phase of a stay at Shepherd’s Hill Academy is a wilderness program, carefully planned to remove distractions, build trust and teach teamwork. Living without electronics and other conveniences gives teens an opportunity to contemplate more meaningful issues of life. The necessity of collaborating to meet simple daily needs calls for coping and teamwork strategies, giving teens good reason to consider their obligation to others.
The Residential Program is Next
After residents consistently make responsible choices and take ownership of their development, they transfer to the residential program and move to a home on campus. This next step gets them ready to transition into society as privileges and personal liberties are restored.
