Looking for a Christian boarding school near Palm Bay, Florida?
You’ve likely been having difficulty with an angry or unruly teen in your home? Has your troubled boy or girl been expelled from school, or gotten into trouble with authorities? Do you worry about their safety? As a result, you may be looking into residential care options; such as boots camps, a therapeutic boarding school or a wilderness program for troubled teens.
We invite you to look into Shepherds Hill Academy, which is relatively close by. For a generation, Shepherds Hill Academy has been helping troubled boys and girls, helping them get back on track. We’ve helped hundreds of teens from around the country from families just like yours.
Shepherds Hill Academy believes that transformation due to a relationship with Jesus is the only real and lasting change. We provide a first-rate education, one-on-one mentoring and counseling, equine therapy, and teamwork exercises to help teens build character and learn to make responsible decisions.
A Hybrid Between a Wilderness Program and a Boarding School, with a Christian Emphasis
Shepherds Hill Academy, located in northeast Georgia about 2 hours from Atlanta, is a blend of a therapeutic wilderness program and a Christian boarding school with several forms of therapy, including counseling and equine therapy. Teens attend Shepherds Hill Academy from the east coast, south, midwest, western states and west coast, including from towns like Palm Bay.
The Wilderness Program is the First Phase
The early part of a stay at Shepherds Hill Academy is a wilderness program, designed to get rid of distractions, build trust and encourage teamwork. Being without technology and other conveniences gives teens an opportunity to contemplate deeper issues of life. The necessity of collaborating to meet simple daily needs demands coping and teamwork abilities, compelling teens to consider their obligation to others.
The Residential Program is Next
After a time, when teens demonstrate responsible decisions and take ownership of their development, they shift to the residential program and live in a home on campus. This phase gets them ready to transition into society as privileges and personal freedoms are restored.
