Looking for a Christian boarding school near Ormond Beach, Florida?
Maybe you’ve been struggling with a rebellious or misbehaving teen in your family? Has your troubled teen been kicked out of school, or gotten into trouble with authorities? Do you fear for their safety? As a result, you may be considering residential care options; such as boots camps, a therapeutic boarding school or a wilderness program for troubled teens.
We invite you to look into Shepherds Hill Academy, which is relatively close by. For 20 years, Shepherds Hill Academy has been helping troubled boys and girls, helping them get back on track. We’ve helped hundreds of teens from around the country from families just like yours.
Shepherds Hill Academy believes that transformation due to a relationship with Jesus is the only true and lasting change. We provide a first-rate education, person-to-person mentoring and counseling, equine therapy, and teamwork exercises to help teens grow character and learn to make responsible choices.
A Hybrid Between a Wilderness Program and a Boarding School, with a Christian Emphasis
Shepherds Hill Academy, located in northeast Georgia about 2 hours from Atlanta, is a hybrid between a therapeutic wilderness program and a Christian boarding school with several forms of therapy, including counseling and equine therapy. Teens attend Shepherds Hill Academy from the east coast, south, midwest, western states and west coast, including from towns like Ormond Beach.
The Wilderness Program is the First Phase
The early part of a stay at Shepherds Hill Academy is a wilderness program, designed to remove distractions, build trust and teach teamwork. Living without electronics and other conveniences allows teens to contemplate deeper issues of life. The necessity of collaborating to meet simple daily needs calls for coping and teamwork skills, giving teens good reason to consider their responsibility to others.
The Residential Program is Next
After a time, when teens consistently make responsible choices and take ownership of their growth, they shift to the residential program and live in a home on campus. This next step gets them ready to transition into society as privileges and individual liberties are restored.
