Looking for a Christian boarding school near Laurinburg, North Carolina?
Have you been having difficulty with a rebellious or unruly teen in your family? Has your troubled teen been kicked out of school, or gotten into trouble with the law? Do you worry about their safety? As a result, you may be considering residential care options; such as boots camps, a therapeutic boarding school or a wilderness program for troubled teens.
We invite you to discover Shepherds Hill Academy, which is relatively close by. For a generation, Shepherds Hill Academy has been helping troubled boys and girls, helping them get back on track. We’ve helped hundreds of teens from around the country from homes just like yours.
Shepherds Hill Academy believes that transformation due to a relationship with Jesus is the only real and lasting change. We provide a first-rate education, person-to-person mentoring and counseling, equine therapy, and teamwork exercises to help teens develop character and learn to make responsible choices.
A Hybrid Between a Wilderness Program and a Boarding School, with a Christian Emphasis
Shepherds Hill Academy, located in northeast Georgia about 2 hours from Atlanta, is a hybrid between a therapeutic wilderness program and a Christian boarding school with several forms of therapy, including counseling and equine therapy. Teens attend Shepherds Hill Academy from the east coast, south, midwest, western states and west coast, including from towns like Laurinburg.
The Wilderness Program is the First Phase
The first phase of a stay at Shepherds Hill Academy is a wilderness program, carefully planned to eliminate distractions, build trust and encourage teamwork. Living without TV, cell phones and other conveniences gives teens an opportunity to contemplate more meaningful issues of life. The necessity of working together to meet basic daily needs requires coping and teamwork abilities, giving teens good reason to consider their obligation to others.
The Residential Program is Next
After residents demonstrate responsible choices and take ownership of their growth, they transition to the residential program and move to a home on campus. This next step prepares them to transition into society as privileges and personal freedoms are restored.
