The Wilderness Program is the First Phase
The early part of a stay at Shepherd’s Hill Academy is a wilderness program, intended to eliminate distractions, build trust and foster teamwork. Living without technology and other conveniences gives teens an opportunity to contemplate deeper issues of life. The Residential Program is Next
After a time, when teens display responsible decisions and take ownership of their development, they shift to the residential program and live in a home on campus. This next step gets them ready to transition into society as privileges and individual liberties are restored.
