Looking for a Christian boarding school near Foley, Alabama?

Have you been having difficulty with a rebellious or misbehaving teen in your family? Has your troubled boy or girl been expelled from school, or gotten into trouble with the law? Do you worry about their safety? As a result, you may be considering residential care options; such as boots camps, a therapeutic boarding school or a wilderness program for troubled teens.

We invite you to check out Shepherd’s Hill Academy, which is relatively close by. For a generation, Shepherd’s Hill Academy has been helping troubled boys and girls, helping them get back on track. We’ve helped hundreds of teens from around the country from homes just like yours.

Shepherd’s Hill Academy believes that transformation due to a relationship with Jesus is the only genuine and lasting change. We provide a first-rate education, person-to-person mentoring and counseling, equine therapy, and teamwork exercises to help teens build character and learn to make responsible decisions.

A Hybrid Between a Wilderness Program and a Boarding School, with a Christian Emphasis

Shepherd’s Hill Academy, located in northeast Georgia about 2 hours from Atlanta, combines the best aspects of a therapeutic wilderness program and a Christian boarding school with several forms of therapy, including counseling and equine therapy. Teens arrive at Shepherd’s Hill Academy from the east coast, south, midwest, western states and west coast, including from towns like Foley.

The Wilderness Program is the First Phase

The first phase of life at Shepherd’s Hill Academy is a wilderness program, designed to eliminate distractions, build trust and foster teamwork. Removing electronics and other conveniences leaves time to contemplate deeper issues of life. The necessity of collaborating to meet basic daily needs requires coping and teamwork abilities, pushing teens to consider how their contribution impacts others.

The Residential Program is Next

After a time, when teens display responsible decisions and take ownership of their growth, they shift to the residential program and live in a home on campus. This next step gets them ready to transition into society as privileges and individual liberties are restored.
