Is it possible that your child may not be as cute as you think?
Have you ever been in church and observed a little three-year old climbing over everything and everyone? Then, as he yells and bangs his toys against the pew, you catch a glancing smile from mom or dad as if you’re enjoying their child as much as they are?
These parents have likely bought the idea that they are stifling Junior’s creativity if they thwart his ability to explore his surroundings.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for youngsters in church.
But, other people–including the pastor–I assure you, do not think these actions are as cute as you might think.
Junior can explore his surroundings the other 167 hours in a week, someplace else.
Parents, train your youngsters to sit still in church. It will be an exercise in self-control for your child that will benefit him, you, and others, for years to come.
