If we’re going to be effective parents, confrontation is something we must get familiar with.
And don’t think things can’t look a little messy in the process.
Like, when you have to leave a public venue because of Junior’s misbehavior.
Remember, Jesus actually contemplated what He was going to do when he fashioned a whip out of cords, turned over the tables of the money changers and drove everyone out of the temple with that whip. And He did this without sinning; because His motives were pure and in keeping with the will of God.
Analogous to the temple cleansing, when our kids are out of the will of God, it’s up to us to confront the sin and cleanse it from their hearts and minds. And though not always through physical means, it’s still done through the biblical model of loving discipline.
