We all want healthy parent/child relationships.
This week I want to provide you with three practical components to rebuild a relationship with your teen.
As I said, we all want healthy parent/child relationships. However, what do we do when we’ve blown it with our kids? When the pressures of work, bills and life in general have turned us into Frankenstein monsters?
There are fundamentally three components to rebuilding relationships and healing – though not comfortable; boy are they effective and surprisingly simple.
The three components are: confession, repentance and forgiveness.
When we admit our mistakes to our kids, sit them down and boldly tell them we are on a mission to change the things we are culpable for in the relationship. Then humbly ask for their forgiveness. Our kids are usually resilient enough to forgive, forget and go on.
