As good parents, it’s easy to always put our kid’s needs before our own.
In most cases, putting your kid’s needs first is wise.
But, realize that putting yourself before your kids—in some cases— is actually not the wisest and most unselfish thing we can do.
For example, take our responsibility to impart godly knowledge and wisdom into our kids.
If we don’t first take time alone with God ourselves, we’ll have less to offer our kids by way of godly insight.
So, when Junior knocks on your door with a non-emergency, don’t feel guilty telling him you can’t respond to him until you are finished spending time with the Lord. This act alone is a spiritual impartation upon your child that will reap rewards for years to come.
