Welcome to my new weekly video post.
Like my weekly articles, this new addition will enrich your week by providing you with practical parenting tips.
As with my weekly article, my topics of discussion will center around parenting in 21st century America. Beginning next week, I plan to publish these new posts each Tuesday.
If you subscribe to this blog, you will receive both the video and the article each week.
Are you a Naive Parent?
Many parents in today’s culture are way too naive about the dark side of their kids.
In fact, I am surprised at how many parents don’t think their kids have a dark side at all.
In your home, be sure you carefully consider the overwhelming statistics facing your teen.
- For example, many honor roll students may have cheated to reach their goals. Nearly 80% of today’s kids cheat; and, they think it’s OK.
- While many young ladies may take pride in their chastity rings, keep in mind that other forms of teen sex are soaring off the charts.
- Also, virtually every public school-attending teenager has already been exposed to pornography in some form.
With this information, let me ask, how would you handle the temptations and new moral standards of today’s culture if you were a kid today?
Once you see that your child may have a dark side, it would be wise to reconsider some of your own parenting strategies as you navigate 21st century America.
