With every great movement God seems to use a bunch of “nobodies” to train up the “somebodies.”
Because of my burden for America, my prayer for Shepherd’s Hill Academy has always been that God would give us a ministry that would impact the world.
In the eyes of the world, Christians are often viewed as “nobodies.” But, God, of course, sees the potential in all of us.
Some “nobody” was Billy Graham’s Sunday school teacher; some “nobody” told D.L. Moody about Christ; and, some “nobody” shared Jesus with John Newton.
Because of the “nobodies,” these “somebodies” not only impacted their nation, but the world!
How can Nobodies Cultivate Somebodies
Shepherd’s Hill Academy is a community of “nobodies”–Christians adhering to God’s calling– revolutionizing the lives of teens from all across America.
But, where SHA is excelling, many Christian schools and churches tend to compromise their stance on a biblical worldview. In general, the church and Christian schools are not creating an appropriate authoritative community environment to properly cultivate our kids into “somebodies.”
The church and Christian schools need to unite in order to expose a biblical worldview that will resonate with that void that is in the heart of so many struggling teens today.
Only a biblical worldview exalts God to His rightful position as Lord of our lives!
Only when we follow the order of the universe will we find our place in it.
At SHA, it takes a long time to bring these kids to an understanding of their place in this world: but, it is the root of all of their hang-ups. When they understand that God is God and they are not, they begin the healing process.
When teens finally graduate Shepherd’s Hill Academy for good and return to their homes around the nation and the world; perhaps some of them will become “somebodies” themselves—not just in the eyes of the world, but great as God defines great.
What are you doing as a parent to cultivate your son or daughter to have the chance at being a “somebody?”
