Today’s world is full of artificial starts and artificial finishes.
Believe it or not this can diminish your teen’s integrity.
Allow me to explain.
Today’s entertainment, video games, movies, TV shows and much of social media allows our kids, and us, to live lives full of compartmentalized experiences.
For instance, if your favorite sitcom doesn’t end the way you like, no worries, next week starts a new episode.
Get yourself killed or kill someone else in a video game, that’s ok, just hit the reset button and start again.
Don’t like a comment from a Facebook friend, just delete the comment and unfriend them.
We need to continually hold our kids accountable for their ethical and moral decisions and not allow them to compartmentalize their lives. Moreover, real life issues have real life benefits and real life consequences.
