On Wednesday, September 13th, 2017, Shepherd’s Hill Academy delivered items collected for Hurricane Victims to their local drop-off point to be delivered to victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas.
Franklin County Georgia individuals and organizations partnered with the Salvation Army of Greater Houston and the St. John’s United Methodist Church in downtown Houston to provide relief to individuals and families impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Items collected included necessity and cleaning items such as paper towels, bleach, towels, baby formula, non-perishable food items, and much more. Shepherd’s Hill Academy staff were excited for the opportunity to contribute items to these relief efforts.
In addition to supplying items, Shepherd’s Hill Academy Boys Program Manager, Drew Embry, along with two students, volunteered to load collected items into the Houston bound tractor trailer. With the help of several other local volunteers the truck was packed quickly and enroute to Houston!
