In today’s culture, are sleep-overs wise? Many parents may not think much about them.
Recently, in front of a crowd of 7,000 mental-health professionals, a nationally known youth and family expert emphatically voiced his position on sleep-overs.
He stated, “The days of the sleep-over are over!”
Generally speaking, I couldn’t agree more!
It’s not 1959 anymore.
Allowing our sons and daughters to attend overnight pajama parties with people we, and even they, barely know, is an absolute recipe for disaster in today’s technology-fueled post-Christian culture.
The only place I could ever think of approving a sleep-over would be in my own home–and with kids whose backgrounds I’m familiar with and who are OK with being regularly monitored.
