Boys’ Needs List – Printable Version

When arriving at Shepherd’s Hill Academy, your child will need the following items.

  • Laundry bag (netted)
  • Water bottle 32oz.
  • Sleeping bag (preferably 0 or 20 degrees) and extra light twin blanket
  • Twin sheet set
  • Pillow with case (not tempur-pedic)
  • School supplies (trapper keeper, 3-2” ring binders, 3 packs of lined paper, pens, pencils, spiral notebook)
  • School back pack
  • Scientific calculator
  • Bible (ESV or NIV)
  • Phone card (300 minutes)
  • Stamps (50)  Envelopes (50)
  • Approved contact list (please only immediate family and grandparents)

TOILETRIES

  • Toothbrush/toothpaste (2 each) Alcohol-free mouthwash (1)
  • Brush/comb
  • Shampoo/conditioner
  • Stick Deodorant (2) (NO AEROSOL PRODUCTS WHAT SO EVER)
  • Razor/shaving cream
  • 3 towels and 3 washcloths
  • Bar soap with soap case/Body wash
  • Q-tips
  • Talcum powder

CLOTHES

  • 3 sets of off-campus clothes – trips and church
  • Shoes (Athletic & Casual)
  • Waterproof boots
  • 4 pants for work and play (jeans or cargo pants)
  • 6 shirts for work and play (tee shirts)
  • Basketball shorts (3) Jean/Cargo shorts (work in summer)
  • 3 khaki pants and 5 collared shirts (school dress requirement)
  • Long underwear tops (2)
  • Hooded sweatshirt (2) sweatpants (2)
  • Rain jacket
  • Belts (2)
  • 2 Basketball shorts
  • 2-3 pajamas (for Summer/cool and Winter/warm)
  • Swim trunks
  • Shower shoes or flip flops
  • 7 pairs boxers
  • 7 pairs socks
  • 4 Heavy thermal socks (winter)
  • 1 pair athletic shoes (sturdy for work and play)
  • 2 Winter coats (1 good for weekend; one for work and play)
  • Sets of gloves (ski type & work)
  • Hat (winter stocking cap)

*     You need not purchase winter wear in summer and summer wear in winter.

  • Please remember to bring your son’s prescription meds and any prescriptions.
  • DO NOT bring expensive name-brand or designer clothes.  It is our experience that these items are not wilderness friendly, and we take no responsibility for the wear and tear of such clothing.  (Nicer weekend clothes are kept up on main campus in closet area).  No sagging jeans.  Please bring belt.
  • Please DO NOT bring any of the following:

CD player, tape player, CDs, video tapes or games, DVDs, personal game systems, alarm clocks, flashlights, magazines, computer or computer games, cellular phone, radios or anything electronic not covered here.  If any of these items are brought to camp, they will be sent home.

Please do not bring or send candy.  Sugar has an extreme effect on many kids.
