The Wilderness Program is the First Phase

The early part of enrollment at Shepherd’s Hill Academy is a wilderness program, intended to eliminate distractions, build trust and encourage teamwork. Removing technology and other conveniences allows teens to contemplate deeper issues of life. The necessity of collaborating to meet simple daily needs involves coping and teamwork strategies, pushing teens to consider how their contribution impacts others.

The Residential Program is Next

After residents consistently make responsible choices and take ownership of their development, they transition to the residential program and live in a home on campus. This next step gets them ready to transition into society as privileges and individual freedoms are restored.

Shepherds Hill Academy is an Accredited Boarding School with Certified Teachers

During both parts of the program, teens attend our on-campus, fully accredited junior and senior high school, taught by Georgia certified teachers. We desire students to get caught up and to also prepare for college, so we also include test prep for the SAT and ACT as part of our regular curriculum.
